Amidst a culture war and countless newspaper headlines, young trans people are continually misrepresented in mainstream media.There is no discussion of the real things that young people – who happen to be trans – stress about while growing up, like starting a business, maintaining a relationship or starting a family.
the solution
We wanted to make a show that showed the everyday reality of growing up in this country for a young trans couple in love, and we did that with one of the most magnetic and effervescent young couples out there, Charlie and Lauren. Charlie is transgender and Lauren has OCD. We followed them for 18 months as they attempted to achieve their dreams of having a family – all whilst launching a trailblazing business for other people like them?“a love story from the scottish lgbtq community that offers some relief to all the horrible stuff thrown at us.”
