THE BRIEF.

Visit Scotland were looking for a modern, distinctly Scottish, and bespoke track to be used across a range of new campaign films.

They wanted any track to feel ‘Scottish’ but not ‘shortbread and tartan’. It should feel modern and innovative, not twee and touristy.

THE SOMETHING.

What we created was  ‘A Sonic Portrait of Scotland’ – a piece of music composed using the real sounds of Scotland.

Literally. From the chug of the Jacobite Steam Train to waterfalls to Gaelic conversations to the rhythmic pulse of a Harris tweed loom (and the opening crack of a can of Tennent’s as a snare sample).

We enlisted hugely talented Scottish musician Zoe Graham to weave these ‘found sounds’ into a cohesive, foot-tapping anthem containing the true sounds of Scotland.
